According to a report by Al Jazeera, Iran's Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has issued a firm warning regarding Israel’s actions, stating that Tehran will not hesitate to take “stronger defensive actions” if Israel proceeds with an attack. This comes after last week’s missile attack by Tehran, which Araghchi defended as a legitimate self-defence defence.
In a letter addressed to other foreign ministers, Araghchi reiterated Iran’s preparedness to respond decisively. "Iran is fully prepared to take stronger defensive actions, if necessary, in response to any further aggression, and will not hesitate to do so," Araghchi emphasized in the letter, which was later shared via a ministry post on X (formerly known as Twitter).
The Foreign Minister explained that Iran’s missile strike on Israel was conducted in accordance with international law, specifically citing the nation’s right to self-defence. He added that the attack followed a period of restraint as Iran had sought to mediate a ceasefire in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.On the Israeli side, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has issued a stark warning, stating that Israel would retaliate in a manner that would be “lethal, precise and surprising.” With both sides standing firm in their positions, tensions continue to rise, raising the possibility of further conflict in the region. Iran's warning highlights its readiness to escalate, should Israel choose to act.
