President Bola Tinubu has sworn in Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as the substantive Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN). The swearing-in took place during a ceremony at the Council Chambers of the Aso Rock Villa on Monday, September 30, following the Senate’s confirmation of her nomination last week. Justice Kekere-Ekun, is now the 23rd CJN and the second woman to ever hold this position in the nation’s history.
